2022 council election candidates in their words: Lomond North ward

Covering a large and partly rural area, Lomond North has three council seats and includes all of the Rosneath Peninsula, as well as Rhu, Shandon, Garelochhead, Arrochar and Loch Lomondside as far north as Ardlui.

in 2017 Barbara Morgan (Conservative), independent George Freeman and the SNP’s Iain Shonny Paterson were elected.

Barbara Morgan resigned last year, leading to a by-election which was won by Conservative Paul Collins, who is not standing next month, with independent Mark Irvine second.

The by-election turnout was just 29.6%.

This time there are seven candidates fighting for the three seats available and they were all invited to answer questions in their own words and supply a video – their responses can be accessed by clinking the links below:

Nigel Millar has not responded to requests for information as ye, and his information will be added if it is supplied.
