2022 council election candidates in their own words: Helensburgh Central ward

Four seats are available in the Helensburgh central ward, with seven candidates vying for votes.

Council depute leader Gary Mulvaney will be hoping to hold his seat for the Conservatives, as will Liberal Democrat Graham Hardie.

With Lorna Douglas standing down after representing the area for five years, Ian MacQuire is the SNP candidate, while former council leader Aileen Morton has also stood down.

Another former leader of Argyll and Bute Council, former SNP candidate James Robb, is again standing as a non-aligned candidate,

Fiona Howard is standing for Labour and Sarah Davies for the Greens, while Alison Willmot will be hoping that the Conservatives can win two of the seats available.
