Three rescued from capsized boat on Loch Lomond

An urgent reminder to wear life jackets has been issued after a rescue on Loch Lomond yesterday.

The Loch Lomond Rescue Boat was called out by Police Scotland just after 10am after reports of a capsized boat and three people in the water between Inchcailloch and Torrinch.

The rescue boat crew recovered all three – none of them wearing lifejackets – and took them to the Duncan Mill Slipway in Balloch where they were handed over to the Scottish Ambulance Service to be treated.

They then went back to the scene, helping national park rangers to recover the capsized boat – it was towed to Milarrochy then dragged ashore.

A rescue boat spokesperson said:  “Thankfully lives were saved today. Thank you to all emergency services today and others involved.

“If on the water please wear life jackets.”
