News in brief: Alternative Christmas tree festival goes ahead, choir event cancelled

An alternative Christmas tree festival is being held in Cove this weekend.

More than 30 trees are crafted by local clubs, societies and businesses will be on display in Craigrownie Parish Church.

Doors will be open tomorrow (Friday December 17) and on Saturday from 10.30am until 4pm, and on Sunday from 2pm to 4pm.

Entry is by donation.

A concert planned for Cove this weekend has been cancelled because of new coronavirus restrictions

The Peninsula Choir, making a comeback under a new musical director, had planned an ‘afternoon of song’ in Cove Burgh Hall on Sunday.

But organisers said today that with regret the event had had to be cancelled because of Scottish Government advice on limiting the number of people socialising together.
