Free lunchboxes offered to elderly by tearoom during pandemic

A tearoom in Helensburgh is offering to supply free lunchboxes to its elderly customers during the coronavirus outbreak.

Craigard Tearoom on Sinclair Street has closed its doors until further notice following Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s latest advice about the pandemic.

But its proprietor Melanie Andrews will maintain a ‘cake delivery service’, with details updated daily on Facebook.

And she added: “For our elderly customers who are being forced to self-isolate, please let me have your contact details if you would like a wee free lunchbox daily.

“Hopefully see you all on the other side if you help and keep buying my cakes.”

Doe details send a private message via the tearoom’s Facebook page.

The current government advice for people with confirmed or possible coronavirus is here.
