Plans to completely demolish Cove Sailing Club’s current clubhouse have been submitted.

The club was awarded £428,000 of levelling up funding from the UK government last December, and in February Argyll and Bute Council approved renewed plans for a new clubhouse – initial approval was granted in 2017.

But a separate application was needed to demolish existing clubhouse, which is in a conservation area.

The council’s environmental health department has recommended approval of the plan, subject to conditions including:

  • A management plan being provided to ensure construction does not cause a loss of amenity to residents.
  • Work being limited to between 8am and 6.30pm on weekdays and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.
  • Management of any asbestos which may be present

The plans are available on the council website – the reference number is 24/00501/CONAC .
