Heart sculpture aims to make Loch Lomond an Instagram hit

An ‘instagrammable’ sculpture is being planned for a prominent site beside Loch Lomond.

Loch Lomond Shores Management wants to install what is described as a public art display next to the retail area in Balloch.

Made of brushed stainless steel and more than ten feet wide, it would b on a steel base plate which would be cemented into the paved area.

A letter from architects Graham Sibbald adds: “The proposal is for a heart-shaped metal public art which can be used for photograph opportunities looking down the loch.

“This ‘Instagrammable’ public art would be suitable for this area given the high number of tourists and facilities in the immediate vicinity.”

More details are available Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park’s website – the reference number is 2023/0360/DET.
