Police appeal after A82 crash

A motorcyclist was seriously hurt in a crash on the A82 beside Loch Lomond yesterday.

Poilce are appealing for witnesses after the incident near Luss.

At around 2.15 pm, a Honda motorbike being driven by a 59-year-old man was involved in a collision with a Mercedes A-class being driven by a 31-year-old man near the A82 junction with Culag.

The injured motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where staff describe his condition as serious.

Sergeant Chris Hoggans said: “This is a busy road and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash take place to contact us.

“I believe there were drivers who may have left the scene before police arrived and I would urge them to phone us as they may have information that will assist our investigation.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone with dash-cam or personal footage. Anyone with information is asked to please contact us through 101 quoting reference number 2059 of 10 August.”

The trunk road was closed for several hours after the accident, with traffic jams also forming on the A814 beside Loch Long.
