Public meeting for Cove and Kilcreggan project

A public meeting has been called in the next stage of Cove and Kilcreggan’s Our Community project.

The villages’ project aims to produce a local place plan, meaning that ideas and proposals could be fed into development of the area.

The Our Community project is being run by Cove and Kilcreggan Community Council and the Rosneath Peninsula West Community Development Trust, with £170,000 funding from the Scottish Government’s Strengthening Communities Programme through CEIS.

Surveys and workshops were held earlier this year, involving 350 people, and now the organisers are looking for people to join working groups in two areas – environment and recreation, sport and space in the villages.

Now a community meeting has been called for September 9 in Cove Burgh Hall.

A spokesperson said: “It would be great if you, the community, could join us in shaping how we approach these two areas.

“Please come along, see what we’re doing, and join a group – everyone is welcome.

“There are so many good ideas, so much expertise, many skills and creative energy in these villages.

“Let’s work together to ensure everyone has their needs met, now and in the future, to keep and enhance this wonderful place we live!”
The meeting will run from 11am to 1pm – doors will open from 10.45am.

Anyone interested in joining the working groups should email ourcommunity@coveandkilcreggan.org.uk – for more information go to the community council website.
