Waverley’s May sailings announced

The Waverley is set to return to the Clyde for five days in May, with the spring and autumn timetables newly published.

There will be only one sailing in Kilcreggan before the historic steamer sails down to England, retuning for her normal Clyde summer season in late June

The latest fundraising appeal for the paddle steamer is still under way, with £130,000 raised towards the dry dock target of £180,000.

But in the meantime Waverley Excursions Ltd has released initial dates for May and October.

On Monday May 22 the Waverley will call at Kilcreggan at 12 noon, visiting Dunoon and Blairmore before cruising Loch Long and Loch Goil.

Her first sailing will be on Friday May 19, from Glasgow to Greenock, Dunoon, Rothesay and Tighnabruaich.

The main summer season on the Clyde will run from June 23 to August 27, but detailed timetables have not yet been announced.

The Waverley will then sail to London and the south coast before returning in October, calling at Kilcreggan en route to Arrochar on Saturday October 14.

Bookings will open during March on the Waverley website.
