Songs and sponges for Comic Relief in Helensburgh

A group of staff at Morrisons in Helensburgh will be singing to raise funds for Comic Relief this Friday.

And management have volunteered to have wet sponges thrown at them in the supermarket’s car park, while other workers will be wearing their pyjamas on the day.

Alistair Maule, Lewis Wilkie, Calum Darroch and Robert Murphy have formed the ‘BackShift Boys’ and will be singing I Want It That Way live on the Morrisons Helensburgh Customer and Community Facebook page.

The idea was dreamed up by Alistair, who is one of our diversity and inclusion champions,” said Alison Sturgeon.

“We had a brain storming session and came up with the idea to have a bit of fun and raise money for a great cause.

“Our Facebook page has almost 3,000 followers and we really hope that all our customers will watch and share the video on Friday and donate to the Just Giving Link on the page.”

The supermarket’s 10 Million Steps in March campaign in aid of Clic Sargent Step challenge has raised £460 so far, with more than 4m steps taken by the team of 26 who are aiming to raise £1,000 by the end of the month.
