Artist joins online fundraising for CHAS hospice

A Helensburgh artist is donating all the sales from her website this month to the Robin House hospice in Balloch.

Robin House is run by Children’s Hospices Across Scotland, which for the first time has set up a one-stop Christmas shop online.

It features an art shop, gifts, experiences and virtual shop windows from 30 small businesses, including artist Lesley Carruthers, who will donate 100% of the website sales to the charity.

In July and August Lesley raised £1,600 for the Stephen Lawrence Trust, inspired by the Black Lives matter campaign, and she has already raised £1,890 for Robin House.

“I’ve been painting a lot more during lockdown 2020,” she said.

“It’s the thing I love most to do, but I decided somewhere during the first lockdown that I would like to donate more to charity in these difficult times, and then realised that I could raise more money by buying painting materials and donating the money from sold paintings.”

Lesley’s paintings are available in the ‘virtual shop windows’ section of the CHAS online Christmas shop.
