Images of life in lockdown captured in new book

Images of the Rosneath Peninsula during the early days of the coronavirus lockdown have been published in a new book.

The photographs, accompanied by haiku poems, were taken by Mike McLean while taking his daily exercise near to his home in Kilcreggan.

The Corona Walks Volume 1 features colour and monochrome images of local scenes, as well as detailed wildlife.

Mike said: “At the start of 2020, the Covid-19 coronavirus hit the UK as it spread around the world.

“The impact on our way of life was immediate and dramatic, the population were restricted in movement and contact.

“The daily norm taken for granted for so long vanished overnight. The definitions of what was essential, who was ‘key’ and what was acceptable were exposed and changed in an instant.

“Everyone had to readjust their view of the world, both near and far; their view of themselves and those around them; their view of what was important.”

£5 from each sale will be donated to Headway Glasgow, a charity which helped Mike after he was injured in a motorcycle accident.

The book is on sale here  .
