A fund-raising event to help save the Waverley paddle steamer is being held in Helensburgh next month.
The historic steamer has not sailed this year after it was discovered that a new boiler was needed, with a £2.5m appeal being launched in June.
That appeal has now passed the £2m barrier, but is still short of the total needed to ensure that the iconic vessel can return to the Clyde in 2020.
And a Save the Waverley event is being held in Helensburgh’s Commodore Inn on Thursday November 14.
As well as a display stand and Waverley souvenirs on sale, there will be a presentation entitled paddle steamer Waverley and the Craigendoran steamers.
The event starts at 7pm and tickets for the presentation are £5 – all proceeds will go to the boiler refit appeal.
