Pupils disciplined after Helensburgh Waitrose incident

Disciplinary action has been taken by Hermitage Academy after an incident at Waitrose in Helensburgh last week.

Police Scotland were called to the supermarket last Thursday lunchtime.

A spokesperson for Argyll and Bute Council said: “The store operates a queueing system to limit the number of pupils accessing the building at one time.

“An incident involving a small number of pupils took place on Thursday and it fell short of the standards we expect.

“Appropriate disciplinary measures have been taken as a result.”

A spokesperson for Waitrose added: “We can confirm an incident happened at our Helensburgh shop and we’re grateful to the police for their swift response.

“As the police were involved I’m afraid it wouldn’t be appropriate for us to comment further.”
