With the schools having broken up and Glasgow Fair weekend approaching, the Waverley’s season is reaching its peak.
And we have a pair of tickets for a trip on the world’s only ocean-going paddle steamer to give away.
On ‘Fair Friday’ July 14 children travel free to Dunoon and Rothesay, with the Waverley calling at Kilcreggan en route – one free child ticket with every adult purchased.
On Saturday or Sunday you can sail to Rothesay or sail through the Kyles of Bute to Tighnabruaich.
On the Sunday continue your cruise and take in the breathtaking sights of Loch Long. On Monday July 17, you can spend your fair bank holiday visiting Rothesay, Largs, Millport or Lochranza, and make memories to be treasured.
The paddle steamer, which is celebrating the 70th anniversary of her maiden voyage, calls at Helensburgh on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Waverley is the world’s last sea-going paddle steamer. Named after Sir Walter Scott’s first novel, the vessel was built on the Clyde in 1946 and launched in 1947 to replace the original Waverley that sunk off Dunkirk during active war service in 1940.
Ross Cochrane, Waverley’s captain, said: “The Glasgow Fair Weekend is one that we really look forward to it’s a wonderful atmosphere onboard, generations coming together to share experiences.
“The fair weekend is a tradition that is part of Waverley’s history, the crew and I are delighted to be part of it. We have an array of fantastic sailings for all to enjoy and we look forward to welcoming all onto Waverley.”
