The annual Highland Games will return to the peninsula next weekend, with events for all the family being promised.
The Rosneath Peninsula Highland Gathering will be held on the Howie Memorial Park on Sunday July 16, with the gates opening at 9am.
A parade through the village to the games field will start at 12.30, with this year’s chieftain Royal Navy Captain Craig Mearns, captain of HMS Neptune.
As well as the traditional ‘heavy’ field events there will be a wide range of races, plus piping and dance competitions.
There will also be Codona’s Yankee Flyer ride, ‘walk on water’ hamster balls, children’s rides refreshments, a beer tent and the usual wide range of other stalls.
