The Cunard luxury liner Queen Elizabeth will return to the Clyde this week for the first time in four years..

Currently at Kirkwall, the 92,000-tonne liner will call at the Greenock Ocean Terminal on Thursday June 30 – she is one of 59 cruise ships visiting the town this summer.

The Ministry of Defence has submitted plans to expand a training facility at Faslane.

A new building, connected to the existing training base at HM Naval Base Clyde, would have four floors of classrooms.

Details are available on Argyll and Bute Council’s website – the application number is 16/01278/PP.

Craigrownie Church is holding its annual summer fete on Saturday July 2 at 2pm in Cove Burgh Hall.

All the usual stalls will be available, including fresh fruit and vegetables, baking, books, bric-a-brac, preserves, tombola, a raffle for a food hamper and cream teas.

  1. Thank you for including the fete. Do you have details of St Modan’s on the 16th? Same info really, just different venue!
