Book early advice for big events at burgh hall

The public are being urged to book their tickets early for two big events at Cove Burgh Hall later this year.

Tickets for the Strictly Silver Hogmanay Ball go on sale at he hall itself tomorrow (Sunday November 8) at 1.30pm – the hall can only hold 120 people so organisers are recommending early booking.

Tickets cost £25, which includes a welcome drink on arrival and a glass of bubbly at the bells, will also be available via the contact section of the hall’s website.

The second Cove and Kilcreggan Book Festival will be held on November 28 and 29, with six events scheduled:

  • Saturday, 11.30-12.30: novelist and poet James Robertson
  • 2-3pm: Meet the queen of tartan noir Val McDermid, chaired by Douglas Skelton
  • 3.30-4.30pm: The compellingly dark world of Denise Mina, chaired by Nicola White
  • 7.30-9pm: Scotland the what? Iain McWhirter and Alan Cochrane cross claymores over the nation’s future, chaired by Ruth Wishart
  • Sunday, 11.30-12.30: The wackily wonderful world of AL Kennedy, introduced by James Robertson
  • 2-3pm: An audience with the ever-engaging Jackie Kay, introduced by Ruth Wishart
