A flood relief scheme in Succoth got underway today.

There is currently an issue with drainage in the Glenloin Crescent area, with the road and subsequently nearby premises flooding.

Working on behalf of Argyll and Bute Council, McFadyens contractors from Campbeltown will be replacing an existing 225mm diameter drainage pipe with a larger 1200mm by 600mm box culvert and an opened lined ditch.

The work is expected to take around eight weeks and will see lane closures at times of Glenloin Crescent at times, but the council says access will always be maintained.

A temporary bus turning bay will be created which will allow services to be maintained throughout.
