Currently used as offices, the four sites will become vacant when council staff move into the refurbished Clyde Street School.

Edinburgh-based estate agents Ballantynes are now advertising the sites – details of the B-listed Blairvadach House in Shandon is also expected to be sold, but details have not yet been released.

The most expensive of the properties so far on the market – at offers over £220,000 – is the former district court and town council offices, a B-listed building on the junction of East Princes Street and Sinclair Street, with suggested uses including restaurant, hotel, offices or retail.

The buildings were designed by John Honeyman.

Nearby on Sinclair Street, offers over £95,000 are invited for another B-listed building which was formerly part of the town’s police office.

Modern offices on the junction of West Princes Street and James Street are available for offers over £150,000.

And on West King Street the C-listed registry office, formerly Rhu Parish Council Chambers, is on the market at offers over £95,000 – again, restaurant or bar uses are suggested.

Offers to lease any of the properties will also be considered.

Council staff are expected to move into their new offices in the next few weeks.
