Four weeks of roadworks planned for the A82

Commuters have been warned of four weeks of roadworks on the busy A82 alongside Loch Lomond.

A £830,000 programme for three sites was announced today by BEAR Scotland, which is responsible for the trunk road which serves as the main artery from Glasgow to the Highlands.

The work will take place overnight between 7pm and 7am, with no work on Fridays or Saturdays to minimise disruption, but there will be temporary speed limits.

At the Cameron House junction work will run from July 5 to July 20, with a one-mile stretch of road being resurfaced.

There will be a convoy system, while the junction will be closed on July 5 and 15, with a diversion in place.

Work will run from July 21 to 27 at the Stoneymollan roundabout section, with a convoy system.

And a section near the junction with the A817 Haul Road through Glen Fruin will see work from July 28 to 30, with two-way traffic lights in place.

Eddie Ross of Bear Scotland said: “We’ve scheduled these works to take place overnight and during the week to minimise disruption to motorists as much as possible.

“Motorists are encouraged to plan their journeys ahead where possible and check Traffic Scotland for the most up to date journey information.”
