Ainsley Hamill to feature at Cambridge Folk Festival

Cardross singer Ainsley Hamill will be performing at the internationally-renowned Cambridge Folk Festival in July.

Partnering with Showcase Scotland Expo, the event will host the finest emerging artists from north of the border in an unparalleled initiative for English festivals.

Dozens auditioned for 12 coveted spots on the event’s three stages at Cherry Hinton Hall, resulting in a hugely talented and eclectic line-up of musicians.

Critically acclaimed Ainsley Hamill, whose 2021 debut album scored Folk Album of the Month in the Guardian, specialises in Scottish Gaelic and English songs, sung with an extraordinary voice which has been compared to Adele, Julie Fowlis and Heather Small.

She will join a stellar group of Scottish musicians, including Blue Rose Code’s Caledonian Soul Cavalcade who will close the world renowned festival’s Stage 1 on Sunday evening, in a fitting finale highlighting the huge impact of Scottish music.
