Anita Manning at RNLI event in Helensburgh

Auctioneer and celebrity antiques expert Anita Manning is supporting the RNLI in Helensburgh.

At an event organised by the town’s branch of the lifeboat charity, Anita will be involved in an Antiques Roadshow-style valuation day on Friday April 19 to raise funds for those who save lives at sea.

Taking place at Helensburgh Sailing Club from 10am to 2pm, the entry is £10 for three items to be valued by Anita and her team of experts from Great Western Auctions in Glasgow.

All proceeds go to the RNLI, which is celebrating its 200th birthday this year.

Well-known for her numerous TV appearances on the likes of the BBC’s Antiques Roadtrip and Bargain Hunt, Anita said: “How wonderful to be able to support the important work of the RNLI and to wish them well in their 200th anniversary year.

“Bring your treasures along to the valuation day. We are hoping for a good crowd and I’m sure there will be terrific surprises for some folks on the day.

“Our experts will value a wide range of antiques and collectables, and, for those who wish to consign items on the day, we offer a reduced auction commission rate.”

Tea, coffee and cakes will also be available and entry can be paid on the door.
