Jean’s Bothy team to tackle Kiltwalk

Members of Jean’s Bothy, together with family and friends, are tackling the Glasgow Kiltwalk to raise cash this month.

The majority of the 35-strong bothy group will be walking the full 22.6 miles Mighty Stride from Glasgow Green to Balloch Park on Sunday April 28, with some electing to complete either the 14 miles Big Stroll or three-mile Wee Wander.

And they have already been in training locally, including a good walk from Luss to Tarbet.

“We are all looking forward to taking part in this event,” said Katrina Sayer, development manager for Jean’s Bothy.

“There are so many benefits to our mental health by getting outdoors and walking, and doing it in the company of others only adds to that.”

The group is raising funds for the local mental health hub, which supports anyone living in Helensburgh and Lomond who wants to improve their wellbeing.

The Glasgow Kiltwalk is already sold out this year, and the Jean’s Bothy crew will join over 14,000 others who have signed up to walk the distance in support of 867 different charities.
