SSAFA staff call at Faslane

Representatives of armed forces charity SSAFA called at Faslane this week.

Corporate & special events officer Sandra Miller and challenge & community events officer  Scott Cunningham spoke to men and women of all ranks about SSAFA, how it helps the armed forces community and gave details of the 2024 Kiltwalk season that SSAFA is signed up to with a record-breaking number of entries.

Scott said: “Sandra and I were afforded excellent hospitality by Chief Petty Officer Murray Anderson when we visited Faslane, and it was a pleasure to meet Base Executive Officer Commander Peter Noblett and Base Warrant Officer Rattler Morgan.

“Giving Royal Navy personnel – some part way through their careers, some nearing the end, and some just setting out as ratings or junior officers – a lead on what SSAFA, the UK’s oldest tri-service charity can do for them at any point during or after their careers was a privilege – and who knows, maybe we got a few people interested in the forthcoming Kiltwalks, too.”
