New HEART group to run some of Helensburgh’s key events

A new charity has been formed to take on some of Helensburgh’s biggest events, it was announced today.

Members of the Helensburgh and District Round Table have formed a new community-focused organisation, the Helensburgh Events and Reinvestment Trust (HEART).

They say it will be a move towards inclusivity, aiming to engage all residents and businesses in the active development of Helensburgh as well as supporting local causes and charities.

The new group will build on well-established events such as the Burns Supper, the Beer and Gin Festival that attracts more than 2,000 attendees annually, the wine festival, the spectacular fireworks display that brought together over 5,000 people in 2023 and the festive Santa Dash.

Mickael Paris, HEART’s chair, said: “We hold immense gratitude for the foundation that the Round Table has provided us.

“For so many years we have witnessed the power of community and the impact of collective effort.

“As HEART, we are committed to nurturing this energy to its full potential.

“We are excited for this evolution and the opportunities it brings to involve more people, to innovate, and to ensure that the heartbeat of Helensburgh continues to pulse strongly.

“Our events have always been by the community, for the community, and as HEART, we will uphold this tradition with renewed vigour and an open invitation to all.”

HEART is planning to start its inaugural year with a calendar full of events that promise to be as engaging and successful as ever.

The team has asked the community to stay tuned for upcoming announcements.
