Community group funding available in Argyll and Bute

Funding of up to £2,500 is available for groups in Argyll and Bute.

The council’s Supporting Communities Fund, which helps community groups across the area deliver a variety of projects, is now open for applications for 2024/25.

The fund has previously supported a range of projects and activities, including improvements to village halls, help with sport and recreation clubs, climate-friendly projects, music making, and art classes.

The fund supports projects based on the following themes:

  • Fairer communities – tackling poverty by sharing opportunities
  • Resilient communities – capacity building, as well as repairing and rebuilding from the pandemic
  • Greener, cleaner communities – environmental action to support addressing climate change
  • Creative communities – creativity for health and wellbeing.

Policy lead for economic growth and communities Alastair Redman said: “Across Argyll and Bute, we have dedicated active communities who help bring people together, look after each other and improve the place where they live.

“Since its launch in 2015, the Supporting Communities Fund continues to help hundreds of groups.

“It often provides a vital lifeline and helps some of the fantastic work happening across our communities .I would encourage all eligible groups to get in touch and apply.”

More information including an application form is available on the council website.

The deadline for applying is March 18.
