New chief executive for NHS Highland

NHS Highland’s new chief executive has been named as Fiona Davies.

Currently chief officer of Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP), she will take up hew new post on April 1 next year when Pamela Dudek retires.

Previously the head of NHS Highland’s mental health services, Fiona (right) has worked for the health board since 2012 and is a registered mental health nurse with three decades of experience in clinical, professional leadership, operational and strategic management roles.

She lives in Lochaber with her family.

Health board chair Sarah Compton-Bishop said: “Fiona has been an excellent leader of Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership, demonstrating vision, skill and empathy.

“I look forward to continuing to work with her in her new role.”

Fiona added: “It is hugely exciting to be offered the opportunity to lead NHS Highland. I am passionate about delivering the best possible care in the Highlands and Argyll and Bute, and working with our amazing teams and communities to do that.

“While I have lots of contacts in the area already, I will enjoy getting out and about to meet as many people as possible.”
