Plans for wind turbines near Loch Lomond will go on display next week.

The Vale of Leven Wind farm proposal is for up to ten turbines up to 250 metres tall.

Coriolis Energy says the development would have a capacity of 70MW – enough energy to power more than 50,000 homes.

There would also be battery storage at the site east of Bonhilll to maximise the grid connection.

The developers say a community benefit package would generate £350,000 a year for local causes, while it will be offered as a shared ownership venutre, giving the local community the opportunity to invest.

Information days for residents and organisations are being held at:

  • The Balloch House, Balloch on Tuesday November 28, 12 noon – 3pm
  • Kilmaronock Millennium Hall, Gartocharn on Tuesday November 28, 4.30pm – 7.30pm;
  • Loch Lomond Rugby Club, Beechwood Drive, Alexandria on Wednesday November 29, 12noon – 3pm
  • and Dalmonach Community Centre, Bonhill on Wednesday November 29, 4.30pm – 7.30pm.
