Police appeal after A82 crash

Police are appealing for information after a serious road crash on the A82 near Old Kilpatrick yesterday.

At around 4.55pm, a 19-year-old woman was driving a Volkswagen Polo westbound when the vehicle left the road.

She was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where hospital staff describe her condition as serious.

The road was closed for several hours afterwards.

Sergeant Kenny Malaney of Police Scotland in Dumbarton said: “Our enquiries into the cause of this crash are continuing and I would urge any witnesses to contact us.

“I am also keen to hear from drivers on this part of the road around the time of the crash as they may have captured footage that will assist us.

“Please contact 101 with incident number 2636 of 24 September.”
