New tourism and housing plan for Arrochar

New plans for a tourism and housing development in Arrochar have been revealed.

A mixed-use development for the site beside the Arrochar was approved by Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park Authority in January 2020.

But now new plans for the site have been produced by Pearlkal Property Investments Ltd.

A site plan shows a section of land ‘given over to the local community to develop as green space’.

There would also be mixed housing ranging from one-bedroom flats to four-bedroom detached houses, as well as a retail and tourism development, a new civic space for the village and holiday accommodation.

The aapplication form states: “The majority of the site is currently a disused and overgrown football pitch with a derelict clubhouse to the south-west corner.

“To the west of the pitch is some ground, with trees and bushes, that slops towards the back of the Three Villages Hall.

“To the north of the pitch is some outbuildings associated with the hotel.

“To the north of the Three Villages Hall is the Pit Stop Café with associated land and parking.”

More details are on the national park website – the reference number is 2023/0253/PPP .
