New health improvement post announced

Sal Campbell (right) has been appointed health improvement principal by Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership.

With an honours degree in psychology and a masters in medicine and science for sport and exercise, she has worked in several posts with Deafblind Scotland supporting people with dual sensory impairment

In 2007, she joined NHS Highland as health improvement officer, with subsequent promotions leading to her new role.

HSCP associate director for public health Alison McGrory, said: “It is with great pleasure that I can announce the appointment of Sam Campbell as health improvement principal.

“Sam has a wealth of public health professional experience and is committed to tackling inequalities to achieve the best possible outcomes for people and communities across Argyll and Bute.”

Sam will be responsible for developing and implementing plans to improve people’s health and wellbeing in Argyll and Bute by strengthening working relationships with local partners and communities.

She will continue to work alongside Argyll and Bute Living Well Networks and a wide range of stakeholders to improve the quality of services available to communities, carers, and their families.

She said the appointment was ‘a huge honour’.

“I am excited and looking forward to supporting colleagues in our public health team and look forward to continuing to work closely with a wide range of partners across all sectors and local communities to improve health, prevent ill-health, and address inequalities across highland,” she added.
