Beach clean to mark coronation in Cove and Kilcreggan

A beach clean is being planned for Cove and Kilcreggan to mark the coronation of King Charles III.

Monday May 8 is a public holiday and has been designated ‘The Big Help Out’ day.

In the final phase of coronation weekend communities across the UK are invited to come together to participate in voluntary activities.

Cove and Kilcreggan Community Council is organising a beach clean and anyone interested is asked to meet at Kilcreggan pier at 10am before cleaning Kilcreggan beach (or an alternative local beach of your choice) of plastic waste.

“Come along and help out with our beach clean for as long as you feel able,” said community council chair Nick Davies.

“Please bring your own gloves – and dress appropriately for the weather!”

Bin bags will be provided by the community council and if these are returned to the pier at 12 noon Argyll and Bute Council staff will collect them later.
