Roo Irvine’s ten-hour hula hoop challenge for charities

 

TV antiques expert Roo Irvine is tackling a hoopathon next week raise funds for animals affected by the Ukraine war.

Roo, who runs Kilcreggan Antiques and regularly appears on shows including Bargain Hunt and Antiques Road Trip, hopes to raise over £3,000 for charities.

“As a passionate animal lover and advocate, the plight of the displaced animals in Ukraine has broken my heart,” she said.

“Animals are our voiceless, vulnerable best friends who love us unconditionally.

“All funds raised from my Hoopathon will go to saving and helping the scared, displaced animals around Ukraine.

“This current situation is heartbreaking, but I’ll never forget the photos I’ve seen of people fleeing with cats and dogs in their arms.

“Pets that only a month ago, were in a warm safe home, with plenty of food, water and love.”

Next Thursday, April 6, she will be hula-hooping non-stop for ten hours in the Creggans Inn in Kilcreggan, starting at 10am – everyone is welcome to go along, show support and donate if possible.

Donations can also be made via a Justgiving page – £650 has already been pledged.

The money raised will be split between three charities:
