A mountain recue team faced ‘significant delays’ on an emergency call today because of selfishly parked cars near Loch Lomond.
The Lomond Mountain Rescue Team was rushing to a casualty who was lapsing in and out of consciousness on Ben Lomond.
But the road to Rowardennan was reduced to a single lane, while cars had blocked the emergency access track that allows us to reach incidents higher on the hill.
A statement after the rescue said: “Thankfully, in this case, it didn’t impact upon the outcome for today’s casualty. However, in a more serious incident, these delays could have been life-threatening.
“Our thanks in particular to officers from Forth Valley Police Division Police Scotland & the Scottish Ambulance Service crew.”
This was the team’s 44th callout of the year – the previous record number of callouts for a year has already been suprassed in 2020.
