Helicopter rescue on Ben Lomond

The Lomond Mountain Rescue Team was called twice in the space of two days to help in injured walkers.

On Friday an injured casualty had to be airlifted off the Ben Lomond plateau by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency helicopter.

Then on Saturday the team was called to help a casualty in the wooded area north of Ledard Farm on the Ben Venue track.

Team members splinted and packaged the walker, who had a lower leg injury.

After a stretcher descent, down the narrow and rough path, they were taken to the Queen Elizabeth hospital.

Forth Valley Police Division and the Scottish Ambulance Service were involved in both operations.
