Free insulation prize for Loch Lomond residents

Loft insulation worth up to £300 is being given away to a household in the west Loch Lomond area.

The offer to residents in places including Arrochar, Tarbet, Luss and Arden is being made by

Change Works in Argyll, which aims to help residents cut their energy costs and reduce carbon emissions.

Research shows that approximately 7.4m people in the UK still have either zero or insufficient levels of loft insulation.

The recommended amount is 270mm, but this has increased from 100mm over the years so many people may need a top up or have fresh insulation installed.

The campaign encourages the uptake of loft insulation as a quarter of heat is lost through the roof in an uninsulated house and it is one of the cheapest and most effective ways of staying warm at home.

Jamie Proudfoot, project officer at Change Works in Argyll, said: “Even if you have loft insulation installed, it’s worth checking to ensure you have the correct levels.

“We’re here to help you with ways to make your home warmer and reduce your energy bills.”

Residents are asked to fill out this survey and say how much loft insulation they have (if any) to enter the prize draw.

Even if they have enough insulation, they can still enter for the chance to win a £50 shopping voucher.

Anyone can enter and the prize draw closes January 10.

Terms and conditions apply and can be downloaded upon request.
