Today’s General Election has forced a change of plans for Cove and Kilcreggan Film Society.
Boris Johnson did not consult with the Rosneath Peninsula group before naming December 12 as polling day – forcing the scheduled film showing to be called off, since Cove Burgh Hall will be used as a polling station.
Instead, Wild Rose – named as best film at the Scottish BAFTAs -will be shown on Saturday, December 14.
Jessie Buckley – who won the best actress award at the Scottish BAFTAs – Sophie Okonedo and Julie Walters feature in the story of a Scottish woman fresh out of prison who juggles her job and two children while pursuing her dream of becoming a country music star.
Doors open earlier than usual, at 7pm, with lights down at 7.30.
Tickets are £4, concessions £3 – bring your own bottle.
