Categories confirmed for RNLI flower show in Cove

Details of categories for next month’s RNLI flower show in Cove have now been confirmed.

The event in Cove Burgh Hall is always a highlight of summer on the Rosneath Peninsula, with gardeners and bakers competing for a range of trophies before all entries are sold in aid of the lifeboat charity.

Doors open for viewing at 2pm on Saturday August 31 and the prize giving will be at 2.30pm.

But entries must be delivered from 10am until 11.45am in time for judging at 12 noon –only one entry is allowed per person per class.

The classes are as follows:

FLOWERS

Garden Flowers only:

  1. Sweet Peas, 6 spikes
  2. Hydrangeas, 3 blooms
  3. Gladioli, 3 spikes
  4. 3 varieties of herbaceous perennials, 6 stems total
  5. A succulent in a pot, max 25cm
