Mountain rescue teams and a Coastguard helicopter were called out to rescue two walkers from the Cobbler yesterday.

The pair had become stuck at a height of around 900m on steep ground in poor conditions.

Arrochar Mountain Rescue Team and Police Scotland  climbed he mountain and found the walkers so they could be winched into the helicopter , then  they were taken to the rescue team’s vehicles and transported to the  base.

Afterwards a police spokesperson said : “This is a good reminder that although it may be heading from spring the mountain tops are still in winter conditions.”
