Major work starting at Cardross crematorium this weekend means there will be no funeral services at the facility for five weeks.
The chapel at the only crematorium in Argyll and Bute will be closed from Saturday February 23 until Monday April 1.
The cremation facility will still be available to give families the option of having their loved one cremated at the site after holding a funeral service elsewhere.
Argyll and Bute Council says the work will lead to improved access, as well as providing better toilet facilities.
A council spokesperson said: “It is important to note that members of the public will not have access to the chapel or any part of the crematorium for any cremations carried out during the refurbishment.
“We apologise for any inconvenience that these vital works may cause, as we work to provide the best possible service for the community at Cardross crematorium for years to come.
