Suitcase Ensemble and quiz night coming to Cove

A unique mix of songs and storytelling will come to Cove Burgh Hall next week, followed by the hard-fought bi-annual quiz night

The Suitcase Ensemble (pictured) form a travelling show – ‘a story in motion’ – which takes inspiration from every locality they visit.

Each performance is different and this one features ideas from encounters at their previous appearance in the Borders and from the Rosneath Peninsula, where they will be in residence in the days leading up to the show.

Previous performances have included a heart-wrenching love story, a life-changing train journey, a magic door knob, a cursed pop group and a ukulele-playing mouse.

The company is reluctant to reveal exactly what is in store for audience members in Cove, but they promise laughs, catchy tunes, and a host of weird and wonderful characters.

Tickets for the show on Saturday February 23 are £5 from the usual outlets, doors open at 7.15pm for an 8pm start and there will be a cash bar.

The following Saturday, March 2, the hall will host one of its popular quiz nights to raise funds for the community-owned facility.

Doors open at 7.30pm and the quiz will start at 8pm.

Entry costs £3 per person, with a maximum of six per team – anyone who can’t make up a full team is welcome to , come along anyway and they will get slotted in.

Bring your own bottle and snacks; there will be a raffle at both events.
