ACT Argyll in Rosneath project

A team from ACT Argyll was in action in Rosneath this week, at the entrance to the Clachan Glen and down to the cairn.

Project coordinator Mark McDougall cleared undergrowth despite the weather and it is hoped that they will return in the new year.

Rosneath and Clynder Community Council secretary Tom O’Brien-Barden said: “Considering the weather the lads did really well and the entrance now looks considerably better with access to the information board now open.

“The aim will be to get Act Argyll back to slowly work their magic down to the bridge and thereafter secure the services of willing and experienced chainsaw owners to start to safely remove the fallen trees across the Clachan Burn.

“On behalf of the community, many thanks to Mark and his hard-working team, have a great Christmas, a Happy New Year when it comes and we look forward to seeing you and your team again soon.”

ACT Argyll was first established in Helensburgh in 2015 and is an environmental works project which aims to improve the natural and social environment by giving jobseekers certified skills and experience to help them move into full-time work.
