Carols and Christmas Dash coming to Rosneath Peninsula

The first day of advent will be marked by Christmas carol singing in Kilcreggan tomorrow.

The Peninsula Choir will be singing in the Creggans Inn from 6pm, in the first of a series of festive events.

The following Sunday, December 9, the second peninsula Christmas Dash will be held, following last year’s very successful charity first.

Peninsula Trikes will lead the way from Cove Burgh Hall at 2pm, with the festive dashers heading along Shore Road to Kilcreggan village.

Everyone taking part will be offered mulled wine, coffee, mince pies or hot chocolate at the Creggans, while a raffle will offer prizes including a hamper donated by the pub and vouchers for Peninsula Trikes and the Logie Baird in Helensburgh.

Afterwards there will be music and facepainting in the pub.

Manager Derek ‘Titch’ Fowlis said the dash was being organised by Michelle McNamee, Frances Taylor and John McNeilage, with all proceeds going to children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent.

“Last year it was great, it was a brilliant atmosphere in the pub afterwards, a really good community event,” said Titch.

“Everyone should come dressed in their best Christmas outfit!”

Then on Sunday December 16 there will be a raft fair at the Creggans – some tables are still available, ask at the pub for information.
