‘Increased reliability with Clydelink’ – yes, that’s what he said

Kilcreggan’s pier was once again closed today.

The Kilcreggan ferry has one again failed to appear today, with ‘technical matters’ being blamed and a promised update from Clydelink by 11am never materialising.

This may be a good time to revisit a radio interview with Cllr David Wilson four years ago – the Inverclyde representative on SPT said passenger numbers had increased because of increased reliability.

He said ten years of decline had been arrested despite a lack of tourism interest and people realised they had to use or lose it.

We haven’t been able to use it very much in the last few months, Cllr Wilson.

Update: At 5.59pn Clydelink said the technical matter had been resolved and they were ‘just waiting approval from the MCA before re-entering service’. An update tomorrow morning has been promised.
