The Helensburgh community is being invited to support families affected by the recent Nancy Glen fishing boat tragedy this weekend.
A two-mile sponsored walk is due to take place in the town on Sunday, organised by Helensburgh Football Club in a show of solidarity with the Tarbert community.
Friends and family from the crew who sadly lost their lives are trying to generate the money required to raise the sunken boat and to enable them to lay their loved ones to rest.
Helensburgh FC coach Gordon Brodie, who helped organise the event, said: “This Sunday, dozens of friends, players and coaches from Helensburgh Football Club are going to be taking part in this sponsored two-mile walk to raise funds for those affected by the Nancy Glen fishing boat being tragically lost to the West Coast waters last month.
“As a club we have forged strong links with Tarbert and anything we can give back to our friends would be greatly appreciated.”
The event will start at The Commodore on Helensburgh seafront at 1pm and walk a planned route along flat roads which is suitable for all ages, returning to the hotel after two miles.
Commodore owner Robert Paterson has very generously offered to provide tea and coffee for everyone that takes part.
Gordon added: “This walk is suitable for people of all ages and abilities and I would urge as many of you not only to donate but to also take part.
“While it’s been organised by Helensburgh FC we welcome anyone and everyone who wants to take part as it’s really an event for one community to support another community when they need it most.
“Let’s show Tarbert that the whole of Helensburgh supports them. Communities are stronger together.”
