The best of blooms and baking in Cove for RNLI

The annual RNLI Flower Show returns to Cove Burgh Hall this month, giving all those keen gardeners, bakers and those with a creative flair an opportunity to show off their talents.

On Saturday August 12 Cove Burgh Hall will host the annual celebration of local gardening and produce, with all entries being sold in aid of the lifeboat charity.

Elsa Burgess, chairperson of the Cove and Kilcreggan RNLI branch, said the Helensburgh lifeboat crew would be at the event unless they were called to a shout.

She added: “We would like to see a lot of people there, especially children.

“We like to encourage the children to come along because there are some nice categories for them, and also we would like children to enter the full baking categories.”

Doors will open at 2pm (entry by donation), with the prizegiving at 2.30 before the stalls open for business – there will also be a bottle stall and tea room – with more of those cakes – and RNLI goods and plants on sale.
