Kind-hearted staff at Faslane raised £1,500 for charity Cash for Kids after holding a Wear Your Christmas Jumper to Work Day event.

Last week Clyde One DJs George Bowie and Cassi Gillespie visited the base to pick up the cheque and meet some of the sailors, marines and civilian workers who took part.

“Cash for Kids is a fantastic cause and everyone really got behind the efforts to raise money,” said organiser Lieutenant McInnes from Faslane-based submarine HMS Victorious.

“The total so far is brilliant, but money is still coming in so we’re hopeful of reaching the £2,000 mark.”

Workers were asked to donate a minimum of £1 to be able to wear their Christmas jumpers.
