Don’t miss the 316 bus on holiday Monday!

Bus services covering the Rosneath Peninsula and Garelochhead are being revised to coincide with the new, reduced train timetable in Helensburgh.

ScotRail decided last month to make permanent the ‘temporary’ train timetable for Helensburgh Central, with no express services and all trains departing at different times from the pattern which had been established for many years.

This left commuters using buses either stranded or facing long delays while they waited for trains, as the changes seemed to have been made without informing bus operators or Strathclyde Partnership for Transport.

Now bus firms Wilson’s of Rhu and Garelochhead Coaches have said that new timetables for the 316 route to Coulport will come into effect on Monday September 26, taking into account the new train times.

The most dramatic change is to the first bus of the day, which will leave Coulport 20 minutes earlier than currently – at 6am, rather than 6.20.
